Zion remembers the excitement and purpose he felt as a little boy while making humorous parodies with his dad. Because stories mattered to him. They still do.
Even though the “evidence” of his early portfolio pales in comparison to the excellence of his current projects, he smiles at the humble beginnings and sees his calling as a filmmaker etched into the rugged terrain of his backyard in rural Tennessee.
It was from the early adventures of boyhood that Arrows Rising Studios was born.
Operating as a father and sons team, Troy pioneered an upbringing for his sons that was far from traditional. Punctuated by international travel and a season of tent living in Mexico, ministry and innovation have influenced the team’s purpose and their stories.
Zion
Schaffer
Zion has been making films since he was a young boy. As an avid writer and successful actor, he is inspired by the tremendous impact of visual storytelling and eagerly creates on both sides of the camera lens. Notably adept at communicating vision and coaching performance, Zion directs with compelling ease. Advocating for the actor, he seamlessly connects the technical and artistic elements of filmmaking.
He hopes that through redemptive stories many will be impacted in a way that heals wounded hearts and encourages perseverance on the journey.
Enoch

Though originally cajoled into a position on his older brother’s production unit, Enoch quickly made the post-production process familiar territory. Tenacious in his pursuit of excellence, Enoch loves learning and quickly assimilates technical processes while challenging widely-accepted methodology. Coupling his robust knowledge of equipment with a sharp eye for detail and sequence, Enoch quickly established himself as a highly capable Director of Photography. Meticulous in his post-production, Enoch excels at color-grading and enjoys adding to his repertoire of special effects.
Troy

Is a multi-hyphenate artist that easily bridges the gap between performance and production through his skillful melding of artistry and logistics. Most often penning new material and supporting his sons in their creative callings, Troy’s visionary gifting has led to a prolific body of work. In addition to writing, the once aspiring art-teacher turned director can competently populate a storyboard with a juxtaposition of metaphorical nuance and cinematic grandeur. Anointed with a shepherd’s heart, Troy deftly lifts humanity from the pages of a script and utilizes film as a powerful medium to shape the story of redemption.
